[ 202. THE AMAZING RACE FINALE ]

My least favourite team won... chip and kim. haiz. they lied and yielded other teams... but well tts juz part of the game.

and that brandon and nicole kept asking lord for help. its your amazing race, muz believe in yoursleves. chip also asking for jesus for help. perhaps asking to be given some strength? and nicole kept whinning abt she cant finish that detour.

but colin and christie even though they always lose their temper but they are seriously the best competitive team out of these 5 seasons. For they chalked up a total of 6 wins out of 11 races (EP 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10) and even has 3 consective wins, with the longest lead of 13 hours. they did most of their tasks better and strategise better than other teams, no doubt. even the last leg during at Dallas, they went thru the maze like a breeze while the supposedly winners chip and kim spent so much time there.

haiz. C&C lost because of a flight delayed and that cost them their 1 million. they were trying to catch up and even called for a cab to bring them all ard dallas cos they noe its hard to get taxi. and they got a very gd driver who took shortcuts but the time gap was juz too much. :(

For your bedtime stories or when u are bored. u can read the following.
why i pasted? cos some of the games they had were quite interesting. :]

These are the places THE AMAZING RACE 5 have set foot on. detourS and roadblockS.

EP 1: Punta Ballena, Urugary

In this Detour, Teams had to choose either "Zips" or "Chips." Teams choosing Zips must make their way to the top of the hotel and pull themselves across a horizontal zip line 210 feet above the ground. Once on the other side, they must take a second zip line 18 stories down to the pool below. While this option was frightening, Teams with guts could finish quickly. Teams opting for Chips must make their way into the hotel casino to play roulette with 20 chips. They would receive their next clue only if they hit their number. While the task wasn't scary, the gamble was. If they didn't get the clue, they still had to complete the Zips option and would have only succeeded in wasting time.

EP 2: Buenos Aires, Argentina

This Detour required Teams to choose between "Perro" or "Tango." Teams choosing Perro, the Spanish word for dog, must take on the extremely popular job of dog walking. One Team member must take charge of eight dogs while the other uses a map to navigate them past a series of checkpoints to their final destination, one mile away at a statue called La Flor. Teams were able to begin the task immediately because the dogs were right outside the cemetery. Teams opting for Tango must travel through crowded streets 1.5 miles across town to a theater and search among similar-looking tango dancers for the man pictured in the program, who would give them their next clue. If Teams found the wrong man, he would take their program, forcing them to get a new program and try again

A Roadblock is a task that only one person may perform. In this Roadblock, that person must play a game called ribbon roping traditionally played by children on a ranch. Participants must enter a corral and attempt to remove a bandana from the neck of one of the calves. Since they were not allowed to tackle the animals, the task could prove frustrating. Once they got the bandana, a gaucho would hand them their next clue.

EP 3: San Carlos De Bariloche, Argentina

In this Roadblock, one Team member had to bite into as many chocolates as necessary to find one with a white center. Of the almost 11,000 chocolates on the table, only 20 had the coveted white center.

In this Detour, Teams had to select between "Smooth Sailing" and "Rough Riding." Each member of Teams choosing Smooth Sailing had to paraglide in tandem with an instructor off the 5,000-foot mountain. While the task would be scary, Teams could finish quickly. Each member of Teams opting for Rough Riding had to ride a bike through a rugged six-mile course down the same mountain. While not a frightening task, biking down the rough terrain could take a long time.

EP 4: Saint Petersberg, Russia

In this Detour, Teams had to choose between "Block 5 Shots" or "Drink 1 Shot." Teams opting for Block 5 Shots must travel to an ice hockey rink, put on protective gear and step into the goalie's position. Working together, they needed to block 5 slap shots from a team of professional hockey players. Teams choosing Drink 1 Shot had to travel to Anichkov Palace, grab a saber and perform a Cossack ritual: balance a shot glass of vodka on the blade and tilt the sword to drink the shot without dropping the glass.

In this Roadblock one Team member had to eat 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of caviar to receive their next clue.

EP 5: Cairo, Egypt

In this Fast Forward, Teams had to make their way to the Pharaonic Village. Once there, they needed to find a sarcophagus and transport it by ferry to a temple and deliver it to the priest inside to receive the Fast Forward reward.

In this Roadblock, one Team member had to climb down a series of ladders to the base of Osiris Shaft, 140 feet below the surface. Next, they needed to search a watery tomb for a satchel, bring it back to the surface and present it to an Egyptologist, who would give them their next clue

In this Detour, Teams had to choose either "Rock & Roll" or "Hump & Ride." Teams opting for Rock & Roll had to use ancient tools to transport 600 pounds of rock across an area of sand the size of a football field. While physically demanding, the task could be finished quickly if Teams could master the ancient system used to build the Pyramids. Teams choosing Hump & Ride must pick a pair of horses to lead camels laden with carpets along a one-mile path through the desert. Once they delivered the camels and cargo to a carpet merchant, Teams would receive their next clue. While not physically demanding, the speed of the task was determined by the camels, so it could take a long time

EP 6: Luxor, Egypt

In this Detour, Teams had to choose between "Herd It" and "Haul It." Herd It required Teams to travel five miles by kalesh, a carriage, to Banana Island. They they had to load 10 sheep and goats onto a traditional boat known as a felucca, then sail across to the west bank of the Nile and give the animals to a waiting shepherd in exchange for a clue. Dealing with livestock could be frustrating, but once they were in the boat, Teams should have smooth sailing to complete the task. Teams choosing to Haul It must travel three miles by kalesh to Pigeon House Farm and use a traditional device to haul water from the river into an urn. Once the urn was filled, they must transport it by donkey to a farmhouse and fill a large jug to the marked line. Getting the water from the Nile would be easy, but transporting by donkey could prove difficult, and Teams may also have to make several trips before they complete the task.

This Roadblock required one Team member to choose a large marked dig site in a field of sand and use tools provided for them to unearth a scarab, a stone carving of a beetle, an important symbol in Egyptian mythology. Once they found the scarab, they would receive their next clue

EP 7: Lake Manyara, Tanzania

In this Detour, Teams had to choose between "Buzzing" and "Busy." Teams choosing Buzzing had to ride a bicycle to a honey farm, put on beekeeper suits and work together to harvest 2 kilograms of honey from traditional African hives. Teams would be covered with hundreds of African bees, but if they overcame their fear, they could finish quickly. Teams opting for Busy must find a furniture store, load two chairs onto a traditional cart and deliver them to a specific address in town. While there was nothing scary about the task, finding the correct address in the rural town could take a long time.

In this Roadblock, one Team member had to open an ostrich egg, cook a portion of it equal to two dozen chicken eggs and eat it all to receive their next clue.

EP 8: Dubai, UAE

In this Detour, Teams had to choose between "Off Plane" and "Off Road." Teams choosing Off Plane, must travel to the Umm Al Quwain Aeroclub and skydive in tandem with an instructor 10,000 feet above the Margham Red Dunes. Once they land, they receive their next clue. While this option was potentially terrifying, Teams could finish it quickly. However, each plane could hold only one Team, and planes were scheduled to leave 45 minutes apart. Teams opting for Off Road had to travel directly to the Margham Red Dunes, where they must drive a marked 4x4 vehicle over a six-mile course through the desert, ending at the skydive landing zone. While a far less harrowing task, Teams could get stuck in the sand, forcing them to radio for help, which would take a long time.

EP 9: Kolkata, India

In this Fast Forward, Teams had to travel seven miles to a temple and perform a traditional Hindu ritual. What Teams didn't know was that the ritual would require them to shave their heads, an act performed by Hindu men and women at least once in their lives. Once both teammates were completely bald, they could claim the Fast Forward.

In this Roadblock, one Team member must enter the brick factory and use a traditional Indian mold to make 20 mud bricks. The task appeared simple, but if the molds weren't filled in the correct way, the bricks would fall apart. Once the factory owner determined that all 20 bricks were properly formed, he would hand the Team their next clue.

In this Detour, Teams had to choose between "Heavy but Short" and "Light but Long." Teams choosing Heavy but Short must travel more than 10 miles to Lansdowne, a region of Kolkata, and choose a taxi with no engine to transport half a mile to a garage, where the owner would hand them their next clue. While the task would be physically demanding, Teams were required to push the taxi only a short distance and could finish quickly. Teams opting for Light but Long, must travel to the largest flower market in Kolkata and find a specific stall. The stall's owner would hand them a garland that they must release into the Ganges River for good luck to receive their next clue. While not a physically demanding task, it could take a long time to find the stall in a very crowded marketplace.

EP 10: Rotorua, New Zealand

This Detour offered Teams a choice between "Clean" and "Dirty." Clean required Teams to drive 13 miles to Okere Falls and perform a New Zealand adventure sport called sledging. With the help of two river guides, they must ride down a one-mile whitewater river course with only a small board, called a sledge, for protection. Sledging down the river would be scary, but Teams that braved the rapids could finish quickly. Teams choosing Dirty must drive 10 miles to Hell's Gate and search for clues buried in a large mud pool. There was nothing scary about the task, but searching through the hot mud could take a long time.

In this Roadblock, one Team member had to inflate a zorb, which is a giant plastic ball, get in it, and roll down the hill while bouncing around inside. The zorb had water inside to protect against scraping from the plastic. At the bottom of the hill, like a hamster in a wheel, the participant needed to walk the zorb across the finish line, join their partner, and run to the Pit Stop at the top of the hill.

EP 11: Manila, Phillipines

In this Roadblock, one Team member had to travel by boat to the Auckland Harbor Bridge and climb a 75-foot ladder to the girders beneath the roadway. Once there, balancing over the harbor, they must walk the narrow metal planks to the clue on the other side. After receiving the clue, they would be lowered down to their waiting partner in the boat below.

In this Detour, Teams had to choose between "Plow" and "Fowl." Teams choosing Plow had to choose a marked farm field and use an ox-drawn plow to till the soil and unearth a buried clue. While labor-intensive, the task involved an animal familiar with hard labor, so Teams could finish quickly. Teams opting for Fowl had to work together to herd 1,000 ducks from one pen to another, 50 yards away. The task was less strenuous, but controlling 1,000 animals that instinctively run away from people could be time-consuming.

In this Roadblock, one Team member had to use a device called an ascender to pull themselves 150 feet up the side of a limestone cliff, Lagen Wall. Upon completing the ascent, they would receive their next clue and rappel 150 feet back down to their partner.

EP 12: Dallas, USA

In this Detour, Teams had to choose between "Slide" and "Ride." Teams choosing Slide must perform a terrifying two-man luge down the Olympic Track at speeds up to 40 miles per hour, needing to complete the course in 34 seconds, the accepted competitive time for amateurs. If they failed, they had to keep trying until they hit the target time. Teams choosing Ride took mountain bikes on a slalom course down the Olympic ski slope in under three minutes. If they failed to finish in the required time, they must keep trying. While not as scary as luge, this task required bike riding skills and speed to finish in three minutes.
