today GP papers didnt go very smoothly... seemed kinda tough to others as well.
there was this guy who was sitting beside me. he slept for both papers even before
the time was up. but obviously i think he gave up. no way u can finish 30 mins
before the paper... most of us didnt haf time to finish... After the scare that our
gp tutor gave... easy topic may not be easy after all if you do close question
analysis... well here's are the questions:

1. In today's world, to be big is to be powerful. Discuss

2. The study of History is pointless because people never learn from mistakes. Comment.

3. Singapore is working towards being a more open society. Discuss the implications.
i did the above question

4. "Improving on Nature" - In view of today's scientific advancements, should this be embraced?

5. Artistic expression should never be restricted. Discuss.

6. Do you agree that a good leader always makes decisions by consensus?

7. Mathematics has limited use. Comment wat a topic!

8. Singaporeans have always been driven by a need to be the best. Has this been a good thing?

9. Is it a waste of money for Singapore to invest in sports?

10. Singlehood is becoming increasingly attractive today. Comment.

11. There is no altruism in the modern world, only vested interests. How far is this true?

12. Man is growing increasingly lonely in the age of telecommunications. Discuss.

Oh was rather pissed with my classmate when the first thing he saw me he said,
"hey u came to school." i was like duh. prelim wat. he said 'oh, i thot u can get a
letter to excuse yourself'

then he went ard to those who are still reading their notes, 'aiya no nid to study
le la' a few frenz n i were rolling our eyeballs.

environmental issues didnt came out. lucky i didnt memorise the case studies...
globalisation also didnt come out at least not directly...
mass media also didnt.. but came out for comprehension which is a killer.

brain power time... read this and try to figure out...

... Media language has been manipulated so that positive concepts now mean the

opposite. 'Deregulation', which was meant to lower prices and help small businesses,

has now become power granted to interntaional banks and a local coporate elite.

lol this one understandable...

This reversal of meaning has an incessant message: the state has adopted a pro-

business agenda; although political parties compete with one another, they are

essentially united in that belief. However, journalists, commentators, conservatives

or liberals alike work hard to promote a show of differences between essentially
like-

minded politicians, thus obfuscating the truth. The real divisions are to be found

outside government and they have never been greater. They reflect the unprecedented

disparity between the poverty of the majority of humanity and the power and privilege

of a corporate and political minority whose goal is to control the world's resources.

Why is it so alarming that journalists, commentators, conservatives or liberals
alike work hard to show the differences between essentially like-minded politicians?

i had to read quite a few times to understand wat they trying to say...

AQ question asked what Singapore needs to do to maintain media objectivity.
i think i might have wrote out of point... kept writing wat singapore has done.
cos the only thing i can think of is to loosen up the censorship. only 10 mins to
do AQ... haiz...
