10.04.04, Saturday ~ Hyped factor: 8/10

well, slept at 3am and wake up 6am today... woke up the wrong side of the
bed, well get pretty hyped up cos today promotion day ma, who dont?
went for mac breakfast wif my bro then went for training... i let the cadets
memorise the red cross promise.. cos WRCD coming... :P Then showed
em the video for the NAt FD 2002... was super surprised tt they proposed
to do footdrill rather than watching the video... and when i told them training
today will end early, they went to ask the YO to extend so that they can learn
marching... they so enthu... lolx... if its me who influence them, then gd sia. lolx.
then my bro msged me ask me did i teach sk cadets to greet? cos they greeted
him. lolx. i was grinning liao. where can u get tt kind of sense of achievement?
mmm... tats why i love red cross. simple actions can make ya day. lolx, then the
malay cadets in punggol helped to correct my pronounciation of the commands.
hehe... see, we learn from each other. they are very engagin cohort. asked a
lot of questions. i am grateful to haf a lively unit, easier to execute things.
went back to sk, see the sec 1s so cute.. so many got potential one... i can see
the future for skrcy...

then changed into my full uniform, the sec 1s like shocked.. come out of the
classrm and stood in front of me, stoned. lucky no1 saluted... if not i taught
paying of compliments for nothing liao... then me n my bro waited for ages for
mr yap's car to arrive... he said 1.15 in the end the car came at 1.45. i thot we
gonna be late for sure. In the car ride, my bro and i spent most of the time
laughing at the YOs' jokes. Ms Mel super funny... kept calling mr yap, 'brother~'
and basically tok a lot of crap. didnt expect tt from a teacher, but she said she
aint one outside the school. and she's always singing that oldies, 'wo yao, wo
yao, wo yao ni de, wo yao ni de ai'... nvr fails to make me laugh. my YOs really
cool lo, they wld bond wif the cadets. go K Box. Mr yap can sing jay chou's
song. i cldnt believe it. lolx. when we arrived, our frenz asked why we so late
-_-. nvm, was surprised at the table arrangement... and my grp got all most
all ND pple and is the fun grp. too bad my bro the other table :( he do looked
like a waiter :X took so many photos and FOOD. our table was practically
another buffet table. dunno why i ate so little... ya had a fun time clapping for
commissioning of officers. clapping real loud for my 3 YOs. the clapping gets
real loud when it came to vincent sir and andy sir. lolx. after the thing,then lt
gen winston choo left and every one started leaving too... only left my YOs
and other supporting ones to witness our promotion...pathetic but we no
nid to maintain image liao. lolx. anyway had a great time cheering. then after
the thing, wanted to take photo wif vin sir and andy sir. then i was wondering
if i shld wear the new rank cos dun wan to be so hao lian... but vin ripped
open my rank and changed for me!!!! haha. so honoured. if only got take pic.
haha... hope can get to see him after this yr. :) then took a precious pic wif vin
and andy sirs. its gonna be in my friendster for long :p then took lots of course
pic.

after the event, regret nvr take away. haha. then went wif others for pool, i
didnt play, studied chem instead. lolx. see they so pro i also stressed. then
went to haf dinner at some crappy foodcourt. same sentiments as my bro.
food ex but sucked. then in the end every1 went home... sianz. its only 8pm
lo. but suddenly felt tired... came home online was supposed to chat wif bro,
then took a nap and became a very long one. woke up like 5 am like dat. :X
so sorry. well, my sec sch a lot of happening...


BLAST FROM DA PAST (2)

after psle, i chose skss as first choice. wanted too pick cat high one :(
but tt time when i moved into sk in feb 1998, there was no public transport
there. hardly. muz walk a long way, somemore no direct bus. so no choice
picked skss. actually i didnt even noe tt it was so close my hse... first 3 mths
spent at an abandoned building oppo holy inncocent... frequent hougang mall
often, and i rem we shared the building wif another primary school cos their
building also not ready yet. we were in the afternoon shift... first day of
school, the sch announced the top 4 psle scorers and i happened to be one
of them. so shy... they made us come to the front. wat for, i also dunno?
now sec sch, psle score dun reflect much. i automatically become prefect
as they asked who were prefects in their primary schools. Dunno how it
happens, i became student leader aka councillor and in charge of PA. then
i also signed up for higher chn... arghz. then for cca, i almost almost chose
chinese orchestra if not for my friend who told me there was a red cross booth.
inside sat a very sweet-looking teacher. one look u cant resist not to go in.
dunno how she did it, she managed to grab some who wanted to join npcc...
since sec 1 i already know wat i want to be, so i chose red cross instead.
then get to noe a bunch of cool VIs. that time we had more than 10 VIs, every
week can see different ones. all so zai and gd looking. i shall touch on rc later.
we had a long walk from the old building to our new school on the last day of
term one. everything was so clean, we ran ard the school. oh ya, back in the
old building, i was voted to be the chairperson of the class. sianz. cos my name
ez to remember? then i got a disgusting guy as my vice chair... he was
initially my enemy... he always picked on me cos i was quiet and inncoent then.
he would sneeze on me and pat my back so hard for nothing. he got attitude
problem... even spit on me b4. haiz. i was so traumatised sitting beside him.
lucky not for long.

then in the new school, my 'enemy' got transferred into another class, cos he
cant get along wif our eng teacher, quarrelled wif her, scolded her bitch and
stuff. next big thing i guess is the NKF champ thingy... initially i lost in the
voting part but my new vice chair, the one i had a crush on lolx, actually voice
out to the teacher that i was better and the class didnt take the voting
seriously so when they revoted. in the end, i was the chosen one. from class
champion, we had to write a testimonial abt ourselves. then i was chosen by
the teachers to be the school champion. so cool 2 trophies... then i was
shortlisted in the national NKF champs. but the interview was on the week
then i was on a beijing trip wif the school. so my teacher helped me arrange
another day. this time, it was 3 judges to myself. more chance to interact
compared to 5 judges and abt 5 candidates. i still emember it was the
news paper reporter, ng wan ching, the vice chair for NKF and tne officer
frm MOE. I told them my experiences for taking care of children. think they
were so engrossed in my talk tt when i showed them some pictures, they were
like deep in thoughts. btw, my mum was a foster mother wif the MCDS,
u noe wats tt rite? dunno tag me. and she took care of abandoned children
until they are ready for adoption. the abandoned children really cute and smart.
but everytime,i wld cry wif my mum when they had to leave us. lolx, i am sensitive
and emotional k.. like wat a piscean shld be. some more they like spent
their 3-4 years here. wld haf treated them like my own brothers and sisters,
and my mum, like her own children. there are also some children who are
retarded, more challenging to take care of them. they would bang their heads
on the way and floor. scary. so muz gif them extra attn. then they wld cry so
loud most of the time, tt i couldnt study :( but got so used to it... i did well
enuff for my sec 1 n 2, got first and top the school. top in 5 subjects out of ten.
lolx. prize presentation tt time, i cldnt carry all the trophies. lolx. paiseh. tt was
the peak of my life :P my greatest feat was getting 97 for science and geo lo...
u can say ez if u wan but compared wif my school, kinda like my class best
class got 1/3 failed. :( ok back to NKF champ. then waited for quite some time,
i knew i was the top 5 national champ. so happy... went for the award
presentation @ shangrila hotel. i was the youngest.. wearing shorts on stage...
the other four were 1 sec 4, 1 sec 5, 1 JC and 1 from SP. only tt time i knew i
won a HP com which is wat i am using. and also a trip to a 10 day summer
camp at west virginia. cool lo. missed school for ten days was not fun lo.
had to catch up a lot. somemore streaming yr... but no doubt the camp was
super fun.

took 24 hrs to travel from
singapore to japan to washington then to detriot and then took a 3 hr bus
ride to west virginia and the campsite. lolx so natural. all trees and its the
global youth camp. i met teens of so many countries. got into a cabin 'amani'
they had different langauges of peace as cabin names like paz, shalom,etc.
the pple there really cool. can see different cultures. diff religious practice.
super cooling cos its not like spore so hot. had a lot of to interact. u can
get to choose modules, there are lessons u can attend. i chose the arts and
cultures. it was rather interesting. i was taught a few great art works and
learn some basic dance, signature dance, using ya body to spell ya name.
every nite after dinner, there will be performance and stuff... so got to
perform in one of the evenings under the stars. u also get to choose an
elective. i chose keyboard. i learnt how to play keyboard. lolx. first piece
was the entertainer. so fun... there i made two frenz from taiwan. and
many more i didnt state here :) karen and hailey. their uncles sent them
here. lolx. learnt abt their country and their school system there. truly
an enriching experience. meal time was even more fun. each cabin had to
rotate to become waiters. prepare dishes and serve the whole camp then
after which the cabin can eat. even though it was only vegetarian but the
food is so nice i dun mind being a vegetarian for that 10 days.
had pizza, pasta, very nice soup and lots of food from all over the world.
dun worry they were made in the camp, not brought by the camp mates.
haha. before we even reach the air con canteen cabin. we had to walk up
steep slopes, more than one :( the milk in the morning is freshly from the
cows. we get hands on experience to get milk from cows in the farm nearby.
very healthy eating... no sugar only got honey. no salt too... they also got
very nice desserts. yummy. there's a swimming pool besides the canteen.
we also often swim when we haf free time. not after meals of course. i spent
most of the time playing volleyball wif the rest. the americans so pro cos
they frm vball club... they taught me how to play. and i think i grew even taller
after the few matches. there are adult councillors too.. they bonded us
together and were our best friends too. i also played all sorts of sports and
games from all over the world. we also had discussion sessions as youth
shared the status of their countries. i even celebrated the independence
day of america... 4th july... i took another elective to make pottery. painted a
banner for the event. lolx. we had telematch tt day so fun... then i also learnt
tap dance. we also planted a tree which i think shld be quite high now. in the
camp i was awarded the best dancer. lolx. cool huh. exchanged lots of
contacts and we still email each other often. and i received cards from them
also. :) ya forgot to mention abt my biological clock. cant get to sleep at nite
cos its 1030 pm there but 1030am in singapore when i am having recess.
lolx. when sleeping u can see goats ard my cabin. lolx.

the last few days were outings. we went out to shop. oh ya forgot,
before the camp started, we were at washington, we visited the paragon,
white house, lincoln memorial. stayed in five star hotel. cool sia. had nice
buffet meals. then during shopping time, i was shocked at the size of the
shopping mall...one shopping mall is like 3 causeway point joined together.
some1 actually got lost lo. lolx. not me... bought a lot of stuff... i wld wan
to go again for the camp but. it costs 3000k excluding the air tickets for a
mth stay lo. :(

I think the first batch of NKF champs lucky. the second one got computer
but the trip was shorter and it was a business trip :(. the third one was juz
a trip no computer.... the gd thing was our sch won nat champs for 3
consecutive yr :)

lets back track... the summer camp was when i was in sec 2. set off in 30 june.
now i shall share my experience of the school immersion trip to beijing
during the sept holidays when i was in sec 1. went wif my best friend who
happened to be a taiwanese. we both from prefectorial board. i think i paid
only 300, the rest edusave... beijing was super fun. we changed like 3 diff
hotels and the food there wow... my breakfast at holiday inn a 4 star hotel
was like 10 dishes lo. plus porridge somemore. three diff grps compete to
see who can finish everything. as usual my grp got me and my friend. lolx.
we went to visit a lot places. great wall of china. we climbed all the way till
the end n cldnt continue cos under construction and time to move on to
the next place. a lot of cultural palces. mostly the dynasty and the diff
palaces. then we flew to xi'an to see the terracotta. wah. i dunno spent
how much on this trip cos the food is cheap and good and so many
souvenirs to bring back... i think i spent close to 1k there. some of us wld
congregate at a couple's room and create havoc. play games, sick ones
tt u wldnt wan to noe. funny ghostly experiences.
