..:: 294. The One With Platoon Best ::..

Friday morning went to whitesands to wait for my army buddies to book out cos i need to get the parade tickets and some stuff from my buddy. Saw a few of them face as dark as charcoal. i wondered what happened...

In the end, the sergeants announced the platoon best and platoon top 10 names. Some feel that the platoon best was not deserving cos the platoon cant work with him. Some find him wayang.(talk a lot action very little)

My buddy was platoon 2nd. Parents of platoon best get to sit at the grand stand so my buddy was a bit pissed cos it was one of the rare chance he could make his parents proud and i can fully understand.

One of my other friend was pissed cos not only he's not in the top 10 but a person who didnt perform much got into top 10. the more angry he was, the more amusing i found. i mean, IMO, you should know your own performance, how good your leadership and stuff... there's no need for such useless ranking to demean yourself. Just by looking at the top 10, i can comfortably say i can only look up to a few, those who really have leadership qualities and great personality, well liked by peers.

pple in top 10, there are those who got screwed by officers for not able to account for their men properly. those with muscles but lack of brain power, not spontaneous enough. those who are popular and well-liked (in limelight) but got no substance. those who only know how to shout at others, but not showing standard themselves.

Disclaimer: 'those' may be an overstatement. I may be referring to only one particular person.

With that, do u still think the top 10 stands? Not trying to console myself or what, but if you still have the logic and eyes to see, you will know it yourself, why let such lame ranking bother you?

There are also some blur cocks living in their own world, they would vote for people whom they see or hear a lot. In the end, they sure vote for those 'wayang' pple. I realised this when i chatted with a few of them and they are seriously so innocent that they dunno what is actually happening behind the scene.

Not being arrogant or what, but for those who know me well, based on my own leadership, those i can look up to with real leadership, i can count with one hand. :]
