I spent the whole week studying in HQ. Yup. been practising math. but hey everytime
prac, results out still fail. haiz. the week passed so fast. Friday after office
hours, we went to have dinner wif a malaysian delegate at lau pa sat. long time since
i went there :] had stingray, some satays, pig organ soup, some korean noodles and
rice! Then i was 'smsed' that i was an ah gong [aka dumbass] cos of some stuff. come
to think, it was kinda funny. but cant reveal here la. :X then went to shop for
kevin sir's bdae gift. then had a long chat over coffee at starbucks. Reached home
12am. dreadful time. Cant sleep + cant study. how nice :] Sat no nid to blog. cos
i spent the whole morning down at sk training. punggol dun haf. haiz. then i
went home and mug.
Well, thats all. tml FAT ARSE again -_-
he sure scream at me cos i nvr hand up my holiday hw.
cant wait for exams to finish... 3 days of terror. the last day 1/7 not really scary
only got chem MCQ. then i can go haunt pple at HQ. and prepare for my current
affairs comp and cadet recognition day. woohh~~

well back to wat i'm up to lately. oh forgot to mention abt 12 june evac gold
accred. thot it was going to be tough but hey it was fun. ambulance drill...
making of improvised stretchers and moving across obstacles. during the
making of improvised stretchers, my partner was lugan. lol. so fun. lucky nvr get
lower than my cadet. phew. but pretty happy wif my score of 84.15 :]
next back to NDC from 18-20.

Well cadets were late for camp... then instructors were rushed to ops rm so didnt
see what went on. starting as quite chaotic, especially the part 'no grounding of
cadets before lunch', then 'only DI can scold, the rest try and cut down' so even
maintain discipline is kinda hard.
today was a bz day for me. in charge of so many stuff... but nevertheless enjoyed
it la cos its all my fields of interest. day 1 had campcraft for 3 hrs, then rck
lecture an hr. then still got outdoor cooking for 2.5 hrs. schedule followed
quite tightly till night trek. it was real fun. the grp i in charge of finished
first and only one to complete. but hey some instructors didnt believe. thot me
and miao ling gif them hints. yes the grp want to win but they dun resort to
asking for hints from us k! dont underestimate the cadets.
19.06.04, saturday
2nd day i was the DI (duty instructor). after a hectic day, i woke up at 4.30am
went to bathe in super cold water. then wake up the rest. had flag raising. wei
shan was wif me also. so funny. [u noe why right? lol] Day 2 was crazy. going ECP
at 0630. then got campfire in the evening. a lot of unhappiness but later resolved.
before campfire, andy sir came and had a gd talk... then campfire prep was so
messy. I got a Day IC. erm dun wanna comment, the instructors shld noe. cant
scream at them before the campfire cos 'their morale is high'. so everything haf
to be in talking terms. so when i had to rush them, i told them to hurry up for
dunno so many times, but still i was told to hurry them.
but in the end managed to release my wrath on them. so angry... the whole day as DI
wah... for campfire had to help set up. set up bbq pit also. cook for instructors
who said they were hungry... in the end left only a few eating. the rest left there
nvr washed... understand how miao ling feels. i cook. we eat. i clean up. great :]
rely too much on the term IWC i think.
RCK accred haiz. disappointing. wanted to find out how to improve the paper and
the lesson so it will be more efficient. but hey following strictly to the time
was more impt. muz lights out at 2330. so muz end at 2300. Juz feel rather suppressed,
i noe wat i am doing. in the end i finished it at 2307. then in the end i was
told to tell them lights out at 0000 so they can study if they want. erm. at the
back giving me that 'wat are u doing? hurry up.' look for the 7 mins? haiz.

nice. pleasantly amusing not the super funny type. then went to TKGS campfire.
diamonds in the rough seems like the theme for yr 2001. was rather short. but
had a great time. chat up wif royce ya, knew him better. :]

Well now abt the second camp... Camp Etoile... stars in french. yup. its actually
a sec one freshman camp... but i was pretty amazed by my punggol cadets.. when
they were late, they asked for permission to fall in... man, i feel gd abt being a VI.
despite some pple say tt i didnt train my new sec 3s hard enuff. to rub salt to wound,
they said, their sec 1s are better than my sec 3. i not the kind to bear grudges but
i believe they had to take back some words after they seen my 2 sec 3s performed
in ULP. juz imagine u send 2 sec 1s to ULP... having such performances, i'm very proud
of them... so wat they lack basic knowledge of FD, evac, FA and stuff. they are keen
in learning, shows leadership, a gd team player and most importantly, they speak up
and they haf initiative. tts wat i hate... comparing schs... for wat? to show how gd
u are as a VI?
anyway, lets bring down my blood pressure and tok abt the camp. the sec 1s really
amazed me... their level of urgency was thumbs up. and they are enthu... and i feel
that they are going to be great unit leaders next time... i wasnt tt gd when i was
sec 1... and some of them, their evac skills.. wow...
i muz also comment on the instructors... we juz break camp for ULP, went home
packed our stuff and had a gd night sleep, then next morning another camp. But we
had very gd cadet helpers who actually volunteered... seriously w/o them, the camp
wouldnt be so smooth. the instructors also broke their utmost limits. Most imptly,
i feel that the sec 1s had grown up. in terms of maturity and leadership. happy to
say we met our objectives. i believe our effort will pay off in a few years time
when they take over the units. :)

ok finally get to blog after more so so long... IWC chairman keeps track on
my blog progress so muz write something. lol. i juz came back from 2 camps
and 1 counting. i look at the date and find myself less than 2 weeks to
study for my midyr. haiz.
well. lets go way back to my memorable ULP (unit leader prog) camp. I looked
forward to this for a very long time. firstly it was my first time being a
group mentor. but hey i think all the grp mentors did a very good job. i am
very honoured to get such a challenging group. lol. well i seen them improving
after the first AOP. i got many late nights or rather mornings cos i slept like
4 am the week before camp. But hey it was all worth it. At least i'm proud to
say my grp shows the most improvement. But it really feels gd when they address
u sir and look up to you. I can swear i almost break down when the camp ended.
Seeing each grp how grateful they are to their mentors and how they expressed
their gratitude really a heart warming scene. well many seniors will say u wont
feel this if u experience it a few more years. well, we shall see... What hurts
most actually when u are grading them... had to be impartial... i still amazed
at myself.
But i fell sick at day 2 after the pulau ubin rescue mission. Muz be my throat
infection recurring... cos i supposed to finish my medication. but the week before
the camp, i was caught up wif meetings and stuff, forgot to eat. lol. i was
38.4 when i took my temperature... tt time i was die die i also dun wanna go home.
Not tt i was selfish to pass the fever to other pple but i really cant bear to
leave the camp and more because of my group. I know they faced lots of prob during
the planning part, i hope i can give them support for the execution part. I knew
my effort paid off when i sat down talking to them during the campfire. Seeing
the campfire they spent so much time and teamwork to build burn so smoothly. i'm
very proud of them for coming so far... Especially when they came back from ECP,
tired and still cheering... they actually wished me 'get well soon, sir' ALOUD.
oh tt few words melted my heart and i sweared tt was the last time i took panadols.
cos after coming back from pulau ubin, every four hours i had to take pills.
In the camp i was quite happy wif my performance, especially i did something extra
lol. that is to teach the link teachers basic campcraft after knowing some teachers
were tough nuts to crack. But everything went very well... we had a very interactive
session and i was able to deliver my first OA lesson. But hey my real wish is to be
able to deliver a lesson during ULP, to teachers... many things i cannot do because
of my rank... sometimes i think back.. mmm... missing two batches of ACOC... though
i made lots of friends now... but it can get restrictive... and UG goes by rank. so
at times cant help but feel a little old but doing the same thing... well in the
meantime i shall explore more things and make myself more flexible and adaptable.
learn more stuff, they sure come in handy... shall explore more ways to set up
campfire... hopefully to be all rounder. :)
but i pretty proud of myself to fight and go on despite i was sick. gosh, still
rem i had fever and sore throat... and the first breakfast was french toast...i
believe all is in the mind. if your will power is strong, u can pull thru no matter
how sick u are. Muz thank a lot of pple for showing care and concern... especially

Haiz... today pay fat arse 2 bucks for not bringing tie.. cldnt find it. bio
test i took only less than a period to study... thot got 2 periods... in the
end study for little while then fell asleep in the library. bell rang, it was
my test liao. -_-. brudder said i pass i treat him -_- great. then got back my
maths paper...i think whole class only 4-5 failures... i contribute to the stats
tt our class percentage passes 70+... haiz.. worse is my class is 50+ distinction.
Wat the hell i am doing... -_- really angry wif myself... got slapped, kicked...

tt our class percentage passes 70+... haiz.. worse is my class is 50+ distinction.

lol. today happy day. mass civics listen to tang quartet.. which i love...
bio tut was kinda relaxing.. less bitching... fat arse here but kept kinda
quiet. watched video for GP.
then speech day training was arghz. but nvm. cadets love my FD session..
fun but gd.. haha... then went to CP for meeting.. OMG. they laugh till
the burger remains can come out from their noses... played wif food

I am still coughing and feeling sick. haiz... today the moment i heard my
pd tutor not in sch, i almost wanted to leave the sch... we were joking
ard like asking him ' u better produce MC, i wont accept parent's letter.'
lol. cos my pd tutor a bit like mummy's boy. we always tease him for getting
allowance frm his mum. lol.
today decided to run at 1.45pm. was coughing so bad even the bio tutor ask
me go toilet... last week of school... i'm awaiting for the hell-lidays to
come... this whole week got dance. arghz... HQ like becoming my second home..
settling link fun day stuff. catch up on gossip. teasing pple. today i learnt
the password to zap things. lol.
then went to watch shrek wif my brudder... kinda funny.. he was 'vibrating'
while laughing... hump. got a lot of cheesy lines and corny resemblence.
really happy these days... but come to think... my chn retest this coming mon.
and my As is like 5 months away... sianz... cant wait for july to come. i wanna
eat wif NYPians. lol. they are a butch of hard-rock suckers. lol.

on.. all for the sake of lowering their prices and badmouthing pple. haiz

i told him i came school for PE... specifically for volleyball... had a math
lect, chem tut, PE played for three periods then head for HQ le. had lunch wif
the rest... too bad ee ling nt there today. haiz. lol. then settled my link fun
day stuff... helped to type the unit leader programme nominal roll... only abt
54 cadets going... mmm... how come amkss nvr send pple? compassvale? nan chiau?
Then help to be human shredder... had office politics.. lol. wrestling in the office... shiok rite? brudder... did u get high? lol. and ya my oyster omelette
... -_-" dun understand ya rationale... not saying i inconsiderate... but then
... if u view it as helping a friend to order... so long i not cutting queue.

medicine cost a bomb, but the doctor rocks.. gave me 3 days MC. lol.

coach jiow juz got tt power of influence... i shall draw up my priority
table liao...
then crapped a lot in the office... knew more gossip... and more office
affairs... now i noe more abt shannen... lol.. and eng kee... mmm...

Fun thing most probably came from playing vball for sooo... long.
missed my break so had to eat at 145... but my brudder mentioned
abt treating me but i wasnt sure i saw the sms correctly... so
i rushed down to PS. Luckily bio remedial was cancelled but still
got CCA. then @ PS i juz stoned... dunno y i had this weird feeling
if i ask my friends for money... so i asked brudder to help me buy.
and he said i treat him like slave :( ok la. maybe u misread my intentions.
i nvr meant tt. dunno whether i too hungry + frustrated tt i
forgot wat i wanna eat or wat. cos we all juz stone there. super awkward
so i left. Almost fainted in the train. had to stand, so many pple. in my
heart i was worried tt the canteen stalls all closed, then i wld really
die of hunger cos it was 330 when i went back.
Then i went to the library and slept till 5pm. haiz. alone. sian. wat
a way to spend my fri, when i released at 145...
then at night, watched survivor... enjoyed the moments but not when rupert
won :( i juz dun like him. lol. And the day sucked knowing that sat got
test...

the end almost late. so decided not to go la. i almost wasnt informed of
the test. aiya shldnt haf asked... i also didnt study for it so in the end
didnt go... instead went to sk. surpised miao ling n brudder. sec 1 cadets
still as cute.Was kinda tired after the thing. Luckily rem haf to meet
shirley regarding link fun day reece. walked the fort canning park for the
6th time. sianz. then loiter ard town wif ys n daniel n brudder. and ya
i sort of wanting to 'treat' my brudder and bought for him food cos he
not feeling well... and i really hope to show that our friendship goes
beyond 'slave' or anything like dat. maybe it was a slip of the tongue but
... anyway, bygones liao. the day was fun but i had to go home earlier
to study.
today
only went for NDC AOP. in the morning saw brudder's blog and i became
kinda sorry... i was juz kidding but it triggered mood swings... haiz.
i think we both very tired... he has enuff things on his hands. well,
hope u wont burn out. i think u wont let yaself to also... sorry today
u kena attacked... hope u didnt sprain ya back. lol. at least it keeps
the three of us awake. lol. but seriously i think i am very childish.

Today was basically spent slacking... i didnt noe why my net speed so fast that i
keep downloading charmed and watching them... then went ard evening time to hunt
for garnishing for the cake for mother's day. lol. it was so fun making the cake wif
my sis... too bad the cream melted too fast. but hey i can try it again during father's
day :) forgot strawberries come in seasons... so today no strawberries... but had a
self-made fruit cake. yummy. cream. i love it. my sis and i were suggesting to buy
a can and spray and eat... yaya.. sick.. but it tasted really gd...

for garnishing for the cake for mother's day. lol. it was so fun making the cake wif
my sis... too bad the cream melted too fast. but hey i can try it again during father's
day :) forgot strawberries come in seasons... so today no strawberries... but had a
self-made fruit cake. yummy. cream. i love it. my sis and i were suggesting to buy
a can and spray and eat... yaya.. sick.. but it tasted really gd...

I read the NewPaper dated on 8/5, i was overwhelmed by empathy. Not by the
amount of financial burden that the IMH aka Woodbridge had to carry. Instead, it was
the number of old people staying there who were abandoned by their children. It
saddened to see how educated people nowadays can be so heartless. Well those who
left them there for healthcare, paid their medical fees and visited them can be pardoned,
but nothing beats bringing the Elders home. Some Elders were left permanently with
no one to visit or talk to them. Now i understand why MOE wanted students to do at
least 6 hrs CIP, juz to ensure or rather force students to have at least a bit of humanity
in them. Some Singaporeans have the ugly sides... whenever they nid to queue, they
cut or rush to queue. Got free or discounted stuff, needless to say. S'pore has become
so competitive even in the non-economical sense.
And it's always the NKF raising such huge sums of money, claiming that some are for
reserves for dialysis as it is expensive. But how about the rest of the needy organisations.
IMH has been incurring millions to cover the medical costs of those Elders who have no1
to rely on...
And really, Some Singaporeans especially the teens are so lazy to even use their brain to
think or their heart to feel. For example, during Flag Day, some of them returned with only
a few coins inside the tins. I asked them to go and try harder and come back half an hour
later.
'Aiya, dun wan la. tired leh. we went so far come back then u wan us go back and
come back again?'
Think this sentence would provoke some thoughts but i guess u know wat i wanna say.
Then there's this big group returning together, same thing. tins were near empty.
'We went orchard then PS, so many people doing flag day also... all of them got
stickers so dun wan to donate'
Mind you, they are sec 3/4s. Worse, they are not the minority.
1. Such a big group how to collect donations?
2. Why go such crowded places?
3. If your shift ends at 12, u come back before 12 or exactly at 12?
4. Most imptly, how do u feel coming back with a near empty tin? Have u done ur best?
Personally, i went for 4 yrs of flag day. My first time i was reserved as i was sec 1 and
shy so didnt dare to approach people. And with my partner, we moved around places...
But for the next 3 years is full tin. And i changed partner... lol. pair up wif my best friend,
peihuan. Not a full tin, we wont report back. For three years we stood at the same spot
@ amk. always full tin. except our last year, we got 1 full tin each before the shift ends and
we went back to take a second one. It really warmed my heart to see that during flag day,
it was Elders who formed the majority in donating to us. Some dun haf change but went
to buy stuff and came back later. Most of the ten dollar notes also came from the Elders.
Flag day can be fun, if you want it to be. For my friend and I, it was nice to observe pple,
chat up wif the residents there when they donated. We didnt really care about the hours.
There are no such thing as shifts to us.
But now at jc level, people rush to do flag day... why? cos they got 6 hrs of CIP but
dunno what to do so a madrush to sign up. Yes, not much time to hunt for alternative
projects, but when u are involved in the flag day, at least put your utmost effort. I see
people just holding the tins standing or just thrust the tin forward when they see people.
Ya. enough of nagging liao. this had been in my mind for so long... so might as well say it
now. Its high time more pple should know that heart does more than juz pumping blood. :)

Phew... can heave a sigh of relief... today did a make up PE. well tt can keep the PE
teachers' mouths shut for quite some time. i hope tml will rain... haiz.. today got
my 100 bucks.. i now left wif 35 :( but hey... i spent majority to print notes so i
guess i'll be able to get my $$$ back for food. lolx. print the notes already 16 bucks.
binding 6 bucks. and i'm gonna claim back money for my headphones from my sis...
+ she still owed me $$$... ooo.. i'll be rich again. i love $$$. haha. sorry going nutZ
cos i think i'm gonna fail my sat stats test. today got called out during math to
solve and check concepts.. sadly, i malu-ed myself... today brudder so good 'treated'
me food. haha. well.. back to study maths... yeah jasmine's safe this week. puffer fish
out.
